We left our idyllic overnight accommodation @ 9:30am and followed the back wheel of our hosts up to Guer for coffee and a supermarket lunch stop. It was another undulating day, albeit on more well-surfaced and quiet, but hot, roads. After a parting of the ways, we continued up to Maximet for a self-made lunch supplemented with a refreshing coke from a bar.

The road to Trefedell was closed, but given that it was Sunday, it was quiet and no one was working, we chanced our luck and found that what seemed like a perfectly adequate road (perhaps by UK standards) was being resurfaced over 4 weeks.
Our accommodation for the night was a French period property in Montfort-sur-Meu with high ceilings and a bathroom bigger than some rooms that we have stayed in. Although it was only 36 miles, we both were tired, so fell asleep watching a quiet, flat and predictable stage of the TdF until the final sprint. The search for food took us all around town and with the Sunday night choice limited to a kebab or French tapas, we opted for the latter which was actually quite good. Music from the park drew us to the local family friendly Bastille Eve celebrations with a jazz band, inhibition-less dancing from all ages and responsible drinking.
